    First topic message reminder :

Started building another crossbow, something different than medieval or modern.

    Here is a clue:

Very nice work, as one of or plane builder say (Marcel Dassault-Mirage father):"If it's elegant it flight well..."
We can say here :"If it's shooting well and if it is elegant it's even better..."
    Keep enchanting us!!!

    Saweeeet!!! So it's finally complete?

I thought I liked classics, but you have brought it to a whole new level...wish I could see it in person and in action. drunken

How's that clap lock? Honestly, I was never a very big fan of it, but have always wondered how it performs. The set trigger must make it really snappy though, perhaps you can wash the bias off my mind? Smile

Thanks for sharing, Todd. I hope a record buck jumps into this beautie's sights and hesitates to make another step. Good hunting! cheers

Thanks Ivo, the set trigger is what makes this thing a joy to shoot! It has a nice balance to it. No problem making 30 yard offhand shots.

I will try later to make a video of shooting it.

    Todd,

this is the third or fourth time I have come back to view your bow and just admire it. Simple, elegant, beautiful. I'd have to have two of them. One to display and showcase, and the other to take out to the woods and shoot the hell out of it everyday.

The craftsmanship is superb and lines crisp and clean. I love it!

Sorry guys this one is not for sale. Put too much time into it to let go.
Still my favorite crossbow, although generally the medieval crossbows seemed to get more attention I really like the relatively more advance features such as the double set trigger and a sighting system.

The original prod had delaminated last summer during a really hot day (98 degrees!) so I temporarily replaced it with a prod from a Horton steel force. Shot a little slower and made the front end a little heavier. The Horton prod was also a lot shorter something like 28" wide compared to the 34 1/2" wide prod that was originally on it. Starting a new project - Page 2 Hortonprod_zps195b76ae Probably made it more maneuverable for hunting purposes but just looked odd in proportion to the rest of the crossbow maybe it is just me! So over the winter I replace that prod with another prod from Elk Ridge Archery similar to the original one. I feel it looks better and performs better as well.

If I get some time I will put up a video of me shooting it.

    Todd
