    board bow cross bow

Post by fiddler49 on Fri Jun 13, 2014 12:11 am

Posting pics here is confusing! Here is a link to Hickory board cross bow I posted on Paleoplanet. I can shoot full size arrows, lots of fun.
Cross bow weighs a total of 4 lbs and stock / tiller can be taken down.
Prod is 62" ntn and recurved, 80 lbs at 27" . Stock / tiller is 4 ft long.
Easy to span even sitting down. Long prod is much more practical than I would have thought. My 600 lb cross bow weighs 13 lbs with spanning lever. cheers fiddler49

Interesting, if a bit cumbersome with that 5 foot long prod and too narrow tiller.

Kenh, It would be hard to stowe on your boat! Actually the tiller is just right, not a problem being that narrow! This cross bow can certainly kill any moose or bear here in Alaska and 1/3 rd the weight of the
600 lb'er. Easy to span and aim from a tree stand.  cheers fiddler49
