lashing a glass prod in raw hide? Empty lashing a glass prod in raw hide?

I want to wrap a glass prod in suede/raw hide to improve its looks. Any advice on how to do this? Also an on line retailer who sells something thin enough would be helpfull

If you just have to wrap that prod, do it with the thinnest leather you can find -- goat skin for gloves, or eel skin for wallets, for example.  Any wrapping will tend to 'kill' at least some of the snappiness of the prod's action, reducing bolt velocity.
