    Hello!

My name is Mike and I am very excited to have found this forum. While new to crossbows, I am an avid amateur archer shooting recurve, horsebow, primitive, compound, and lever compound bows. Seems like crossbows were bound to happen sometime and I guess now is that time!

    Hi Andy - thanks!

Yes, I am in the planning stages and have been picking up materials for a little while now - keeping my eyes open for things that might work for different parts of trigger mechanism, etc.

I very much want to try to replicate the look of this crossbow:

I've done a drawing of a simple trigger that I think will work, and will be posting it up for critique to get more experienced opinions. Was also thinking of possibly using the tips of a pair of cross country skis as the prod or just going with a manufactured one like the one in the picture.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome!  Very Happy
