    Howdy every one
So im starting my new crossbow which will be a MK2 of my last crossbow just improved and with a few extra features and will be keeping a update on here every week/month or so.

Im going with a all alloy construct since im better working with metal then wood and am using some airsoft gear like a airsoft folding stock, foregrip, grapic sight and handgrip which greatly reduces the amount of work i have to do.

    Alloy bull-pup crossbow MK2 project Img_0510
I started making the trigger first since the rest of the crossbow body will be built around/from the trigger, Its all alloy apart from the sear, latch and pins. But am taking my time on the trigger since im still waiting on a 20mm dovetail rail for my holographic sight.

    Hey everyone
So progress has been slow yet quality got the safety made up and works quite well blocking the sear latch from moving, Also started on sides of the trigger mech which im going to completely enclose anyhow below are some pics of what ive done.

Also the screws that im using now are just to hold it together for the time been intill i get some flat head screws and counter sink em in.

@Kenh cheers mate and yeah thats the main reason ive picked up building crossbows is the mechanical side to it quite rewarding in a sense

@Chaz cheers mate glad you like it

So as a update ive done abit on the bolt rail trying to figure out how to make it attach yet still be strong enough to not move from the 80 pound prod pulling since im making the prod and bolt rail as the upper receiver.

But heres a over view on the parts ive got coming and will give you's a fair idea how this crossbow is gonna look once finished

    Alloy bull-pup crossbow MK2 project W_144310
Im using this lower frame housing as my grip and since its 38mm wide the trigger mech will drop into it but will prob need abit of modding to do so.

    Alloy bull-pup crossbow MK2 project W_125710
And the sliding stock which will be attached to the lower receiver

    Alloy bull-pup crossbow MK2 project W_143210
And last is this under rail which will serve as a means to attach a fore grip.

All in all it has cost be just over 150 bucks in airsoft parts and 50 bucks for the alloy used to build the trigger and frame which prob isnt to bad for a custom built crossbow.
    thanks cheers

Hey every one hope we all had a merry xmas
So my dovetail rail finally got here and i didn't waste any time mounting it onto the trigger housing the holographic sight does add a fair amount of weight thou.

    Alloy bull-pup crossbow MK2 project Imag0113

    Alloy bull-pup crossbow MK2 project Imag0114

So far the trigger has came out better then i thought ive put it in a jig and tested it with my 50 pound prod with no jams and a easy pull to release, i also put 6 rubber bands onto the latch then put the safety on then dropped it down my back stairs lol and the safety held up with no release.

Hi Cheer. Beautiful craft plenty of ideas!!! But as I see you are willing to spend some $ for nice parts, way don't you put a bit more to invest in a at least a 150 # prod that you find in any corner..... It will be a minimum to complete that amount of nice work you do !!! It look like a beast, he have to be one....Of course it's up to your taste.

@Todd the archer, yeah ild rather work with metal then wood and with the alloy im using all parts are hand cut with a hacksaw then filed\sanded to fit.

@Jeep, thanks mate as for the parts these are lol china made air soft parts the scope was only 40 bucks and under rail 38 bucks, and i don't think ill have enough room for a 150 pound prod the crossbow is only 38cms long with a 10cm draw i was meant to set it at 16.5 but dropped it back.

And heres a video of it in action its still unfinished but at lest it fires well

Sweet sounds of a working trigger mech. drunken Good Job, I'm currently remaking mine...not such great engineering after all.

Build is looking good, I've always loved the concept of a crossbow built from easily available aluminum/steel stock and have been playing with the idea in my mind dor a good while.

Got a little sketch of a similar little bow, only with a folding Uzi stock on it.

    Spoiler:

Hope everything is good on your side of the ocean. Looking forward to the finish line thunder, dude! Smile

Cheers Ivo yet my trigger is thanks to you from what you've shown me, and i hope you get yours right the second time round.

As for a alloy stock i think its the way to go for a strong light weight stock, my crossbow so far with out the scope weights 1.2kg/2.64 pound, and your design looks the same as mine except the stock and my hand grip is further back did you design it based off the MP7?.

But so far im just playing the waiting game im hoping the last parts will be here by the end of the week fingers crossed.
    Thanks cheers

*Glad the info helped. Very Happy

I really like the uzi folding stock, had a bit of a rant going a while back on how I thought I "invented" it. Laughing

    https://thearbalistguild.forumotion.com/t343-collapsible-folding-shoulder-stocks

and that's pretty much it...teh stock is what I designed the bow around, but it does look a bit MP7'ish.

As for sheet metal bows...that field is yet to be tackled. So much cool stuff can be done there. drunken

Lol yeah i read that awhile back now days its pretty hard to invent any thing and if you do and get it patented some one els can still use it by just changing the design a tiny bit.

But as for making your own stocks i dont see much point now after seeing how high the quality of just air soft parts are and price, you can buy a sliding MP5 stock for 28 bucks.
And Ive seen folding stocks for around the same sort of money made from high density nylon.

Sheet metal bows would be a great way to make money if you had a press since two parts pressed, to make the stock.

    Howdy everyone
Did abit more work on the trigger housing pulled it apart and hit it with a epoxy undercoat and black over coat, also checked for any damage/wear from shooting and could see none what so ever which is good.

This is the last time i put the trigger back together since the rest of the safety will be installed, I gave my self time to think about the best way to go about it.

And here are some pics of how the housing came out after painting.

Hey everyone how we all been
Got a big update on my progress with my crossbow, i did run into a few issues main one been customs seizing my hand grip housing but that didn't stop me from continuing an instead used the grip off a tape gun lol also got the stock mounted.

So here are two pics off hows its looking still need to give it a respray and close the end off where the stock is mounted also re-tap two holes and a few other odds and ends other then that its a dream to shoot and ive also made a mount so i can attach a spear gun reel so i can fire a harpoon bolt.

I heard an arbalest, his fate bewailing

As on the sunny river bank he lay....

@Shiloh cheers mate and every one can be good at anything if you just take your time.

I am thinking of upping the power too 150 pound since the 80 pound prod is great but lacks punching power and all i need to do is upgrade the sear and trigger latch which would only take a day.

Ill get a video up of it firing along with the harpoon bolt which i can fire 20 meters with the line attached.
