Has anyone found a practical source of info on compound bow dynamics? You know, the kind of info that will allow the average idiot with grade 10 arithmetic and a rusty screwdriver to build it.

I imagine myself messing around for hours with dummy limbs, test cams, and butchers twine trying to reinvent the wheel (pun intended). Just want to start messing in the right direction...

I have a couple lengths of Bingham Projects Power Tuff glass on the way, unsure what I want to do with it, but thinking I will follow up the last project (15c crossbow) with a compound build for variety...I kind of like the reverse draw Scorpyd type bows...

I gotta admit I'm not that fond of compounds, but two have appealed to me

    Nerd Flintstone's Paleo-legal Compound

    and this one by MRobin:

I love shooting all the crossbows I've built, but if my life ever depended on putting an arrow into something far away, I'd probably reach for my trusty old Browning wood-riser compound. I never thought seriously about building a compound crossbow because I only imagined the traditionally limbed, cammed or pulleyed designs that are so ubiquitously available that I don't think I could improve on at all for the price. That being said, Mr. Flintstone and MRobin have really opened my eyes to some more innovative and interesting ideas!
